Preparing for 1250 tournament! Next months plan and List

Hey Guys, Ras here from Romania.
Just found out that 9k is having a 1250 tournament on the 24 September and this time i am actually home to compete.. Wooohuuu!! Now everything has to be painted and its WYSIWYG so that leaves me with a about a month to paint up the last i need for my list so this mean lots of Catachan post for you guys who missed the Catachan content the last few months.We will play the missions from Nova.

Mostly stuff i usually bring with the exception of a vendetta gunship and veterans without Harker! Now i still need confirmation from Michael that he have time to give the vendetta and the sentinels the usually base green with highlights but if hes for it, then this list is more or less the one i will bring(feedback always welcome, but keep in mind i still need to paint it! ;)).

Here is what i need to paint in the month:

2 Guardsmen with flamers
1 Sargent
5 regular guardsmen
1 vendetta gunship(needs to be catachanized)
2 scout sentinels

I am up for the challenge!

Rawenwing trio WIP

Been a while since i last posted. Been busy with my 2. semester exam project and i still need to defend it the 24th, however this gave me a bit of time to paint in and i managed to finish painting the sergeant.

 I made a power weapon for my sergeant that i magnetized, so i can switch between then as needed. I plan on magnetizing everything in my Dark Angels army since it will be a relative small model count(especially compared to my catachans!).

I still need to finish the bases. I will  go over the bases with some bleech bone before varnishing them to make em pop more. Then i need to varnish them before applying the static grass. Also i need to do some freehand squad markings on their right shoulders.

I also manged to put together a attack-bike and magnetize the weapon setup so i can switch between heavy-bolter or multi-melta. Al tho i think my attack-bikes will act as tank busters i still want the option.

Ravenwing biker almost done!

Just need to put squad markings on the right shoulder, dead static grass on the base and then of cause varnish it. I am already started priming the rider with the Meltagun.

What do you guys think? anything i can improve on? Anything you don't like or anything specific you think works good or less good?

First Ravenwing bike done

I still need to paint the driver for the bike and varnish + add abit of dead grass to it.

What do you guys think? I tried to keep the whole thing dark and subtle, like the whole hunting of the fallen theme.

Oh and i am thinking about weathering the tires red..

Ravenwing test model

Hi guys i just finished my first Ravenwing test model. I spend abit over 1 hour on this model so obviously the real models will receive much more love on details but the idea with colors and execution will still be the same.

Things to note

1. The crest was a royal pain in the ass to paint on these models(which thank god my Ravenwing wont carry bolters in front of their crest!) and the detailing on its paint job was VERY poor!

2. the blood red highlighting on the bolter was put on to strong in my opinion. I like my highlights less subtle, which was why i went with this kind of highlighting on black.

What do you guys think? Any tips or hints you don't like or stuff you do like, please let me know.

I am 28 years old and i live with my Rumanian wife in Aalborg, a city in north of Jutland(the left and biggest part of Denmark).

I study to become a Datamatician (programmer) and i still got 1,5 years to go. I then plan of getting a bachelor after that.

I have two sisters which are 26 and 22 years old.

My favorite music is trance (Even though my wife doesn’t believe it to be music).

I don’t think Ron needs any introductions. There is no guy, who have done more for our community than Ron. His blog is properly the most visited each day in our community. Besides being an amazing converter, he is also an amazing painter, an amazing inspiration and a great person. I where very sad when “From the warp” was put in hibernation but thank god it is again up and running for full speed!

I decided to put Michael in the top 10 blogs for several reasons. Besides his great commission painted models and soon to be gaming club/store, he took a risk and quit his job to do something he loved for full time. That is something that takes balls and I am happy to say that he is now a full time commission painter with a several month long list of customers. Michael is a great guy and a good friend and I am very happy to see him succeed!
